Placement and use
Place Adam’s needle at the front-to-middle edge of a sunny xeric border, on a dry bank, or beside a patio where its upright silhouette can be seen from a distance. Give the rosette open space rather than tucking it into a densely planted mixed bed. Its evergreen form is especially useful as a fixed anchor near gravel, stone, walls, and other hard-edged features, while the flower spike adds a temporary taller layer above the planting.[1][2]
