Placement and use
Place it at the base of a trellis, narrow fence panel, mailbox post, or obelisk where stems can immediately find their way upward. Keep the support close to the planting point and leave the front of the bed open for lower plants and access; loose stems can otherwise spill across nearby planting areas. It also works in a hanging basket, where the same growth habit can cascade over the rim instead of climbing. Avoid relying on it as a groundcover in a tightly planted bed, where the twining stems are harder to manage.[1][2]
