Placement and use
Place blue oat grass in a sunny border, gravelly planting, rock garden, or near the front of a foundation bed where its rounded clump can act as a repeated structural note. It works well as a single focal clump or in small drifts, but avoid tucking it tightly beneath spreading shrubs or tall perennials that will crowd its base. Keep the arching flower stems back from narrow walks, steps, and patio edges so their summer reach does not interrupt circulation.[1][2][3]
