Placement and use
Place Trillium grandiflorum beneath deciduous trees, along the shaded side of a shrub border, or in a protected woodland bed where soil stays evenly moist. Use several plants as a repeated ground-layer element rather than scattering single specimens through a large area. Keep it inside the bed edge, away from routine foot traffic and digging zones, so its slow-spreading rhizomes can remain undisturbed. A leaf-mulched planting area helps maintain the woodland setting it needs.[1][2]
