Placement and use
Place Ice Plant at the front of sunny borders, along the top or face of a dry slope, or through rock-garden pockets where its spreading stems can knit open ground together. Keep it outside the main line of travel: its low mat is better treated as a planting surface than as a walkable path. On slopes and banks, arrange plants in staggered rows so their mature spread can cover the grade without creating a rigid grid.[1][3]
