Placement and use
Use Lady Fern in woodland-style beds, shaded borders, and the damp margins of ponds or streams. Set it where an overhead canopy, building, or taller planting filters direct sun, and keep it out of exposed, windy positions where the fronds can be torn. Its arching clump works best beside a path or bed edge when the foliage can lean outward without blocking circulation. Reserve a reach-in strip from the path so old or damaged fronds remain easy to remove.[1][2]
