Placement and use
Set maiden grass toward the back of a deep border, along a property edge, or in a broad planting island where its arching leaves can extend without narrowing circulation. A single clump makes a vertical accent at a bed corner or near a structure; repeated clumps can form a loose seasonal screen. Keep shorter plants in front, and avoid placing it immediately beside a narrow path, entry, or seating area where the mature fountain of foliage would overhang the usable space.
