Placement and use
Use Northern Sea Oats along the inner edge of a path, beneath an open tree canopy, or through a broad shade border where its fine stems can be seen against a quieter backdrop. Keep it far enough from tight paving, narrow entries, and small formal beds that wandering seedlings will be easy to notice and remove. It is especially suited to naturalized or woodland garden layouts, where a repeated drift can read as a loose, unified ground layer.[1][2]
