Placement and use
Set Norway spruce toward the outer edge of a property, well back from main garden rooms and narrow side yards. Its scale suits a windbreak or screen where a continuous evergreen structure is wanted, but it needs enough setback that lower branches do not pinch circulation beside paths, drives, gates, or fences. In a specimen position, keep the foreground open or use low plantings that will not compete with the tree’s eventual spread. Choose a full-sun location with an accessible route for watering and early establishment care.
