Placement and use
Set this cactus in the brightest, driest-looking part of a rock, gravel, or succulent planting, with open sky above it rather than the shadow of shrubs or eaves. It works well as a single upright marker near a patio or along a bed edge, provided the planting line sits back from paths, gates, and seating. The white covering can obscure sharp central spines, so leave a reach-in margin for maintenance and keep it out of narrow circulation routes.[1]
