Placement and use
Give a saguaro an open, sun-exposed position where its upright silhouette can read against a wall-free horizon or broad gravel planting. Set it well back from paths, gates, patios, play areas, and routine work zones so mature stems and spines do not narrow circulation. Its 40-foot height suits the rear or center of a large, low-profile desert composition; avoid placing it where it will dominate a small courtyard or cast unwanted shade across sun-dependent planting.
