Placement and use
Give this tree an open position where its rounded canopy can develop without pressing into a walk, patio, driveway, or play area. Keep thorny branches away from routine circulation and from spots where people need to reach beneath the canopy. It can serve as a specimen, a small grouped planting, or a screening and security element at the outer edge of a property; in each case, reserve a maintenance approach from the non-thorny side or from an adjacent path.[1]
