Placement and use
Give White Fir an open position where its lower branching and broad base can remain part of the design. It works best as a single specimen in a large lawn, at the outer edge of a generous bed, or as a long-term screen set well back from everyday garden activity. Keep it away from narrow side yards, low roofs, overhead utilities, and paths that need full clearance. Place lower plantings beyond its expected canopy line so the tree can retain a clean, uncrowded silhouette.
