Placement and use
Place zinnias in broad drifts, small repeating groups, or straight cutting rows rather than as isolated specimens. Their roughly 18-inch mature spread lets a group read as one colorful block, while the 2½-foot height suits the space behind low edging plants and ahead of taller annuals or shrubs. Keep the planting near a path, bed edge, or other working access if flowers will be cut often. Zinnia also fits containers, patio gardens, walkways, borders, and mass plantings.[1]
