Placement and use
Place cantaloupe at the outer edge of a vegetable bed, beside a broad mulch strip, or where vines can be guided away from working space. Leave a clear route to reach fruit without stepping into the planting area, and direct young vines into one or two open lanes as they extend. A fence or sturdy trellis can reclaim ground space; support enlarging fruit in mesh slings so its weight does not strain the vines. Keep potatoes in a separate part of the plan.[1][2]
