Placement and use
Set endive in an open, sunny part of the bed where it can receive regular watering without being shaded by late-season tomatoes, trellises, or tall brassicas. Use it as a front or middle row crop in a 3- to 4-foot-wide bed, keeping the row close enough to a path for easy harvesting and for reaching each head when blanching. A block planting makes the crop easy to manage while leaving clear circulation around the bed.[1][2][3]
