Placement and use
Set English peas along a trellis, fence panel, or netting at the back or north side of a vegetable bed so the climbing growth does not shade shorter crops. Keep the support line close to a path or bed edge: pods are easier to pick when both sides of the row can be reached without stepping into the planting area. Carrots, cucumbers, sweet corn, radishes, and lettuce can share the plan; keep onions, garlic, chives, and shallots elsewhere.
