Placement and use
Set fava beans in a sunny vegetable bed, preferably in a sheltered position that reduces wind pressure on the upright stems. Place the row along the north side of lower crops when possible, so its height is less likely to block their light. Sweet corn, cabbage, carrots, and lettuce can share the broader plan; keep onions and garlic in separate parts of the bed. A straight row or compact double row makes the plants easier to contain and harvest.[1][2]
