Placement and use
Set goatsbeard behind lower shade perennials or at the inside edge of a woodland border, where its height can be seen without narrowing a path. A single clump can hold a damp corner; repeated plants can make a bold backdrop along a streamside-style bed or water-garden edge. Keep it out of tight foundation strips and narrow side yards, where the mature mass would crowd circulation and limit access for watering and cleanup.[1][2]
