Placement and use
Give each shrub a dedicated spot along the edge of a fruit bed, a fence line, or a lightly shaded side of the garden. Keep it set back from paths, play areas, and narrow work aisles so thorny stems do not snag passersby or complicate picking. Its moderate height works well behind low herbs and annual vegetables; garlic, chives, and tomatoes can share the broader planting plan without crowding the shrub’s root zone.
