Placement and use
Use Hibiscus rosa-sinensis as a single focal shrub, or repeat it along the back of a generous bed for a leafy, flowering boundary. Keep the planting position sheltered from wind and away from places likely to receive frost. In colder areas, a large movable container lets it serve as a summer patio plant before moving under protection for winter. Leave enough open ground around the base for watering and seasonal pruning without stepping into adjacent plantings.[1][2]
