Place it as a specimen beside a patio, pool edge, wall, or broad path, keeping the crown clear of places where fronds would brush passersby. Its slow growth makes it useful in a composed planting that should hold its structure for years, rather than a bed that needs quick screening. In containers, give it a stable, generously proportioned pot and position it in a shaded outdoor sitting area or a roomy indoor corner with open headroom.^[1][2]

Set multiple Kentia Palms 10 feet apart, center to center. That interval allows the 12-foot mature crowns to visually overlap slightly while preserving enough separation for each palm to retain a distinct silhouette. Keep the planting center well back from a narrow walk, fence, or building edge, and reserve an access strip so older fronds can be reached without stepping through neighboring plants.

Use partial shade, especially where overhead cover or filtered light protects the fronds from harsh direct sun. Keep moisture moderate: water deeply enough to moisten the root zone, then avoid leaving the soil continually wet. A well-drained, humus-rich mix suits containers; outdoor sites should also drain freely while holding some organic matter.^[1][2]
