Placement and use
Give lychee a full-sun position where its low, dense canopy can stand clear of paths, patios, roofs, overhead lines, and neighboring trees. It can serve as a specimen near a sitting area, a broad shade tree, or part of a screening planting, but keep its canopy out of circulation routes as it enlarges. Choose a site sheltered from strong winds; a dense crown can catch wind, so avoid exposed corners and open corridors between buildings.[1][2]
