Placement and use
Place PJM Rhododendron where it can read as a rounded, year-round mass: along a woodland edge, in a mixed shrub border, or as a low informal hedge. Set it behind shorter perennials or groundcovers so its foliage remains visible after the spring flowers pass. A north- or east-facing exposure, or a bed with morning sun and afternoon shade, helps keep the shrub out of harsh late-day heat. Leave a reachable edge beside paths or bed openings for pruning after bloom and for checking soil moisture.[1][2]
