Placement and use
Use Microbiota decussata where its horizontal habit can travel across open ground: on a slope, along a bank, through a rock garden, or at the outer edge of a foundation bed. Set it back from narrow paths and steps so its mature spread does not crowd circulation or conceal hard edges. It can link spaced shrubs into a continuous lower layer, but allow taller plants behind it rather than placing it where their roots and dense shade will dominate the planting area.[1][2]
