Placement and use
Give sorrel a dedicated edge or small block in a full-sun bed where it can remain in place from year to year. Set it near a path, bed corner, or other frequently visited area so leaves are easy to cut often without stepping into surrounding soil. Its 1½-foot mature spread calls for a little breathing room beside short-lived vegetables; avoid relying on that space for successive annual plantings. Keep access open along at least one side of the clump for repeat harvests and seasonal cleanup.
