Placement and use
Place these shrubs in full sun where regular watering can be delivered without wetting a nearby path or patio. A row works well along the back or side of a productive bed, with a clear picking lane on the sunny side and enough room to prune the interior of each shrub. Containers are a workable option where the native ground cannot provide an acidic, organic-rich root zone; use a grouping rather than scattering single pots through the landscape. Keep the planting distinct from tomatoes, potatoes, and cabbage.[1][2]
