Placement and use
Place swamp milkweed where the soil stays reliably moist, especially beside a pond, along a stream edge, in a low spot, or within a rain-garden planting. Use it in a drift behind shorter plants so its upright stems remain visible without blocking a path or garden view. Leave a reachable edge from a path or stepping stones for seasonal cleanup, but keep the planting area broad enough for a relaxed, naturalized effect rather than a tightly clipped border.[1][2][3]
