Placement and use
Use Winter Hazel in a woodland border, sheltered shrub border, or the dappled margin beneath an open canopy. Give its spreading outline enough room to remain visible rather than pressing it against a wall, fence, or tight corner. Position it behind lower perennials or groundcovers, with a nearby path or seating view that catches the flowers in late winter. A protected exposure helps preserve the early bloom display from wind and frost.[1][2]
