Placement and use
Give zucchini an outside edge of a sunny bed, or dedicate it to the end of a row where its 4-foot spread can lean outward into open ground. Keep the planting close enough to a path for frequent picking, but set the center back far enough that leaves and fruit do not spill into the walking surface. Avoid tucking it between slower, lower crops that will be shaded or made hard to reach as the plant fills out.
